To the editor

Dance for Memories Community Dance Event is very similar to a walk or run event.
The difference is participants raise money by dancing for just one hour to their favourite musical decade.

There will be music from every decade going back to the 1930s right up to the 2000s.

Along with DJ music, enjoy live band performances by the Outsiders (of Gord Ellis fame) and The Rotary House Band.  Each hour will include a mix of celebrity dancers, dance instruction and dance performances.

Contests and prizes will be enjoyed throughout the day. The event is open to ALL who want to participate – all ages and abilities. There is no admission fee for spectators.

When asked why she was doing this new event, Krysta Logozzo, one of the event co-chairs said:  “Some of my fondest memories of my grandmother and grandfather involved music and dancing.  Whether it was hearing the vivid stories about the community dances they would enjoy together or singing their favorite songs with them when we were young.
Special memories are attached to music and dancing for all of us – some bringing joy and others that just make us want to get up and move!

We hope you will join us on Saturday, May 7 at Superior CVI High School from noon to 8pm.
