LETTER: Down the rabbit hole

On April 27, 2012, TBT News had a report on the status of the develpment of Phase Two of the Waterfront Development.

On April 27, 2012, TBT News had a report on the status of the develpment of Phase Two of the Waterfront Development. From my re-collection approximately $7 miilion remains of the $18 million originally budgeted for this phase as the difference was re-appropriated to Phase One.

There several interpretations of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, down the rabbit hole, one being entering a world of confusion.
The Waterfront committee having completed their goal in overseeing Phase One, have shifted their attention to a "fixer-upper" of Manitoba Pool Two, essentially a coat of paint and illlumination.

According to Mark Bentz, the committee is in the conceptual stage regarding the plans for Manitoba Pool Two. So what will be the next step, an approved budget?

The Centennial Conservatory is in need of repairs, millions are need to road infrastructure, more millions for a proposed events centre and it's parkade, municipal golf courses operating in deficit and of course an uncompleted Phase Two Waterfront.

Down the rabbit hole in our potitical situation is really down the money pit.
