To the editor:
A big thank you to the entire community from myself and my family in your fundraising efforts.
A small hard-working town has been able to raise a substantial amount of money in a tough economic time. It makes you wonder how the government has the courage to say “we will contribute money, but only based on how much you give.”
If the entire city was affected, and there was no funding from within the community, would this mean the government would match our $0 fundraising total two-to-one? Or would they pay out more?
Nevertheless, Thunder Bay proves to be a community with a lot of hard working people and caring hearts. Ever since the disaster, not only did we lose personal items, we were forced out of our home, changing everything in life as we know it.
Money will never replace our life as it was prior to last May, but knowing that there is support within the community definitely helps. Thank you.
Brendan Levanto,
Thunder?Bay
