To the editor

My heart goes out to Ryley Hlady and his children (A second chance, March 22, tbnewswatch.com).

As I understand it, MS has many faces. Symptoms can differ markedly from person to person, run the gamut from mild impairment to incapacitation and can wax and wane depending on the type of MS one has.

Clearly Ryley knew he wasn't imagining his symptoms and persisted despite the challenges he encountered from the medical community. Ryley proves that tenacity is a good thing, that you are your own best advocate when it comes to your health and that even if you're told that your symptoms are all in your head, no one knows your body better than you do.

To his credit Ryley obviously didn't give up; he is proof that when the right diagnostic tests are performed and subsequently analyzed by technicians who know their stuff, questions are answered. I wish Ryley and his daughters all the best.
