To the editor:
Although I haven’t seen Shannon for many years my memories of her are very fond ones.
We went to elementary school together in a French immersion program. We had birthday parties, played at recess; she was an amazing girl, and it breaks my heart to see her family having to struggle through her death this way with how callous and coldly she is being portrayed.
None of us can say we’ve never made mistakes in our lives or had some regrets. Shannon unfortunately had a larger load to bear than the rest of us.
Shame on us for not giving her the dignity she wholeheartedly deserves.
My deepest condolences to the Hogan family in their tragic loss and I hope that they find some comfort knowing that there are people out there who do care about Shannon and didn’t know a thing about the bad stuff and only have good memories.
