To the Editor,
I was more than moved by the news story released on Nov. 4 regarding our local Humane society, which is obviously in serious financial trouble and in need of our support.
As such, I would like to remind the good people of Thunder Bay just how valuable a service this organization provides and invite everyone with the means to respond, to do so as I intend to do.
I am a senior on a fixed income, but am prepared to dedicate $20 a month to this agency in an effort to help them in what has clearly become an emergency situation. It is said that we have a large number of “millionaires" in our midst and we certainly know we have our fair share of "sunshiners.”
That being the case, I challenge each and every one of them to match, if not better, my contribution to lift this wonderful service out of the red once and for all.
What do you say, Thunder Bay?
Are we the City with a giant heart or not?
After all, this isn't just about the animals, it's also about jobs which we can't afford to lose any more of.
Louise Fisher,
Thunder Bay
