To the editor:?

North Light, a new media arts collective, is doing a series of Saturday workshops at the Mary J.L. Black Library in September that teach people about media arts and how to achieve high production value with a small budget using things they already have (literally) at their fingertips.

We are kicking off the series on Sept. 14 with our iShoot workshop — which will encourage people to bring their small cameras, tablets, smart phones and DSLRs to take part in a hands-on workshop with local filmmakers and artists.

The workshop is geared for beginners or hobbyists looking to improve their projects. Our goal is to encourage interactive and collaborative media work within the city. We'd love to get the word out about the collective and our workshops.

If you were interested in learning more, please check out the website at northlightcollective.com or our Facebook page.

It’s loaded with info and some of our collaborative projects.

We are also planning a skate and snowboard video workshop as well for November. If you were curious, or have questions, contact me at [email protected].
