Why is it any of the City of Thunder Bay's business if you have flood and sewage backup insurance?
I would think that a claim is a claim, and if someone does not want to put a claim on their insurance they should not have to. Insurance money does not come without a price.
High deductibles, increased rates and possible cancellation of future flood and sewage backup insurance coverage is a possibility.
The relief money should be available to everyone, equally and regardless of a person’s financial situation. This is an arbitrary decision made by whom? An elected representative, or a civil servant?
That is the City of Thunder Bay's stance when it comes to asking its citizens, organizations, other governments and cities to donate money to help pay to repair the damage caused by whatever the reason is that caused the mess.
The City wants the money from these third party sources regardless of how much money it has in the bank.
The citizens of the City of Thunder Bay deserve the same treatment.
