Your headline “Greatest ever?” Oct 19, begs the question – greatest ever what?
When a premier comes into office and inherits a $5.6 billion deficit and then institutes the largest tax hike in history (health tax), installs GST on everything, takes billions from gambling and lottery operations and still manages to triple the deficit, he is surely not a good fiscal manager.
This coupled with all the eHealth, Ornge, and power plant scandals makes him one of the worst premiers Ontario has ever had.
One wonders why the resignation now? What other scandal is in the offing?
Has the construction bribery probe in Quebec suddenly become too close to Ontario? What about the persistent rumour of three per cent kickbacks to the Liberal Party from all government contracts? Yes, indeed perhaps we should be asking “Why now, Mr. Premier?”
