Dear Editor,
I am truly appalled at the thought of that poor girl’s family (Memorial scaled back http://www.tbnewswatch.com/news/183800/Memorial-scaled-back) for having found their memorial to their lost daughter so brutally vandalized by people who should have the initiative to take responsibility for this.
I too have lost a member on a road like this and would have loved to build some kind of remembrance of my past loved one's life.
A memorial like this would let others share in the grief one goes through at these times in life when we lose someone very special and young. These memorials help people get through their grief, and let others know that there are dangers out there.
Also, these memorials help remind you and everyone who can hear the message that we need to be careful on the roads.
These roads are dangerous, but to say that these items were removed to keep it from distracting other drivers doesn’t sound like a respectful response. It also isn’t respectful to remove the items.
Now that culprit has caused more damage than he bargained for; he damaged this family’s memorial.
I do not know this poor family, but I do know they have more issues to deal with.
