LETTER: New bridge needed

To the editor: I wish they would have let the whole James Street Swing Bridge burn, but make it so that the fire didn’t go past either ends of the bridge.

To the editor:

I wish they would have let the whole James Street Swing Bridge burn, but make it so that the fire didn’t go past either ends of the bridge.

That would allow no one to get hurt on either side, but also force a new bridge to be built.

I’ve never felt safe going over that thing because of how old it is.

The planks of wood are no longer being held together by the screws, some of the metal pieces are springing up. I just don’t feel safe on it.

That bridge was even in the news last summer and a bunch of people were complaining about how old and possibly unsafe it is for crossing and asking the city to make a new one.

They said every day they have to drive over it for work and are waiting for it to give way and into the Kam River they go, or the car gets stuck on one of the planks.
