Letter: Parade could go south

To the editor: I for one, and I am sure many more, am shocked to hear the decision to cancel the Canada Day parade in Thunder Bay.

Hello! We have a south side waterfront also! There are bleachers there under the subway at Donald and Simpson Streets (floats could finish up at the entrance if unable to proceed under the subway). Simpson Street in that area could be closed off to traffic; it has before for the 10-Mile race.

What a treat for the south area for a change. We have the Fort William Gardens to assemble, or Delaney Rink or even the Westfort Community Centre, etc and how about fireworks at the Fort or on Mount McKay?

The Canada Day parade could assemble or definitely go by our Taj Mahal for a little show-off day in the south core for a change.

It seems someone isn’t too patriotic or couldn’t care less for those who are. Where did “Go, Canada, Go” go?
