LETTER: Put your phones down

To the editor:

I own a small farm on the outskirts of Thunder Bay.

Weekly I drive into the city to pick up supplies and help my aging mom.

More often than not I run into problems with distracted drivers using phones on the highway.

I usually shake my head and often take a breath of relief.

What’s so important that can’t wait, that puts not just them, but the innocent driver in the approaching lane at risk, when they drift over the yellow line?

I just hope I’m behind the wheel of my diesel when this happens. This way there will be only one life taken.
Please continue enforcing the distracted driver bylaw to the extent.

Andrew Doyle,
Thunder Bay
