In regards to Gilles Mondoux and his victory in court against a city alderman: This is not the first nor the last fishy decision by our council.
There are things going on in our community that most of the taxpayers here never learn about. I will be making a deputation before council on Feb. 27 regarding another matter that too stinks of either inept staff or some kind of manipulation of rules to suit someones agenda.
This city has rules in place from property accessment to the selling of laneways. These rules only seem to apply to certain citizens and not to others. I too will take my complaint to the courts if I do not get an answer that follows the city's own rules because as of today its not happening.
Look at the most recent fiasco that the city is playing down to the citizens of Thunder Bay.
A $7-million oversight and the attitude by our city manager is an oopsy. Let's just raid the reserve fund no biggie. We're not idiots Mr. Commisso.Perhaps a $100,000 oopsy could be, but should never be OK, but $7 million dollars, it again speaks to his arrogance and lack of respect for the community that pays his salary.
He is the tail wagging the dog.
