Letter to the Editor:

As one of Thunder Bay’s Members of Parliament, and as Northern Ontario’s representative in Prime Minister Trudeau’s Cabinet, I’ve been proud to help deliver our Liberal government’s plan to grow the economy and create good, middle class jobs.

This is the plan we were elected on, and I’m pleased that we’re already seeing signs our plan is working.

In the last eight months alone, the Canadian economy has created more than a quarter million full-time jobs.

In fact, 1,600 jobs new jobs have been created here in Thunder Bay since we were elected.

Optimism is on the rise. Businesses are hiring because they're confident in our plan.

They’re investing in people because they see the federal government investing in long term growth.

Last month, we introduced Budget 2017, the next step in our plan to help the middle class and those working hard to join it.

We’ll be making smart investments in skills training, infrastructure and innovation.

The job market is evolving, so we’re also creating opportunities for lifelong learning, so Canadians can be confident that the next job is also a better job.

This budget will help us all build a better future for our kids.

Working together, here in Thunder Bay and across the country, we’ll ensure our best days lie ahead.
