Local resident is encouraging everyone to work together to end the pandemic.
Letters to the editor
To the editor:

We all want to see the end of this pandemic and be free of this terrible disease.

Seventy-five citizens of Thunder Bay have died from COVID-19. The total number of Canadians who have died from COVID-19 so far is approximately 33,000 and rising with a worldwide total of 5.6 million.

Hospitals around the world are stretched to the limit with COVID-19 patients and the majority of these patients are unvaccinated.

People are more likely to die from this disease if they are unvaccinated.

The life expectancy in Canada has dropped substantially since the beginning of this pandemic two years ago due to COVID-19.

Doctors and scientists have stated that to stop more variants from occurring poorer countries are also going to have to provide vaccinations to their populations. These countries will require financial help to do this from other wealthier countries.

Many of our citizens are waiting for life-saving operations that have been put on the back burners due to the overwhelming number of COVID-19 cases.

If we want to get through this pandemic and limit the number of people that will continue to die from this deadly disease we must all get on the same page and promote vaccination. Denouncing vaccinations or vaccine mandates will only prolong this pandemic and will cause the death totals to accelerate.

Thunder Bay
