Letters: Give vets their own space

I have attended every Remembrance Day ceremony for more than 50 years.

I get teary eyed when I see the Veterans marching and cannot imagine what they went through. We owe them so much. Most, if not everyone at the Fort William Gardens Ceremony, think that the veterans marching group are all veterans.

This is definitely not true.

I don't believe anyone that is not a veteran should be marching with the veterans. The veterans deserve their own space. If others are permitted to be part of the ceremony they should be clearly separate from veterans.

I discussed this issue with a good friend of mine who is a very active Thunder Bay citizen that promotes Canada every chance she gets, and was a prominent part of the Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Fort William Gardens.

She agrees that the vets deserve their own space.

Hopefully this will be rectified for future Remembrance Day ceremonies.
