10-year-old dies in ATV crash

A 10-year-old Dawson, Ont., boy has died following a Tuesday ATV crash.

Officials with the Rainy River detachment of the OPP say officers responded to a reported motor vehicle collision involving an off-road vehicle around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

An investigation determined that the 10-year-old boy was operating an all-terrain vehicle on private property along Worthington Road in Dawson Township when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a barbed-wire fence.

The boy was ejected from the vehicle.

The boy was taken to the Rainy River Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
