THUNDER BAY – Tickets for the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay will go on sale on Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m. local time.
Curling Canada made the announcement on Tuesday, noting they hope the third time’s the charm for the city.
Thunder Bay was scheduled to host the event in 2021, but it was moved to Calgary because of the pandemic. They did host in 2022, but fans were prohibited from attending the matches – though up to 500 volunteers were allowed inside Fort William Gardens for the semifinal and final.
Event vice-chair Diane Imrie said it's exciting to know in a year from now fans will fill the Gardens, cheering on curlers from across the nation, unlike two years ago.
"It's very exciting. This has been three times lucky. We're looking forward to be able to have fans in. We were originally supposed to have them in 2021, then in 2022, with only volunteers allowed. Now, it's going to be packed to the rafters, cheering on our curlers. It was a very strange moment being in the rink and watching with no fans and nobody in it," Imrie said.
Those who purchased tickets for the 2022 Scotties will have priority for 2025 ticket purchases and Curling Canada said an email will go out on Thursday with details on this year’s pre-sale period, which will last through Sunday.
"I was really happy to hear that Curling Canada has made the decision that people who purchased 2022 tickets will get first chance at getting them," Imrie said.
"They stood by us. They sold very well when we first announced them in 2022. I'm just really happy that that's going to happen for them."
Full event packages range from $408 to $444, and include a single ticket to every draw at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Championship weekend packages start at $216 and opening weekend packages range from $108 to $132, and include a single ticket to all draws from Friday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 16.
A weekday package, which includes a ticket to three games played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, ranges from $60 to $69.
All tickets are subject to standard facility and ticket-service fees.
Tickets will be available at www.curling.ca/tickets or in person at the Fort William Gardens box office during regular business hours. Inquiries may also be made by phone at 807-625-2929.
The Scotties is scheduled to take place from Feb. 14 to Feb. 23, 2025.
