Forty-four people are currently in hospital with COVID-19, including 12 in intensive care.
The corresponding numbers on Friday were 50 and 11.
Updated data on the positivity test rate was not immediately provided.
Since the onset of the pandemic, 8,328 district residents have tested positive for the virus, and 78 people have died.
The Province of Ontario reported 1,282 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday and 1,335 on Monday.
However, these are an underestimate of the true widespread transmission of the virus due to testing restrictions that were implemented on Jan. 1, 2022.
Ontario also reported 1,038 people in hospital with COVID on Tuesday, including 319 in intensive care units.
Hospitalizations continue to trend downward as they have for the last few weeks.
Last Tuesday, there were 1,550 hospitalizations, including 384 patients in intensive care.
