THUNDER BAY — An early-morning power outage took about 500 Hydro One customers off the electricity grid in rural areas north of Thunder Bay.
Areas affected included Gorham, Jacques and parts of MacGregor Township.
The outage, which started at 2:30 a.m., was caused by an unspecified equipment problem.
Hydro One initially estimated that power might be restored within five hours.
However, it later pushed the repair time ahead by a few hours.
By 9:50 a.m., service had been restored to all but about 20 customers.
The utility said it might take until as late as 1:45 p.m. to have everyone back on line.
