THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police "a written threat"  located in the area prompted them to evacuate some homes in the 300 block of North Norah Street for several hours on Monday.

In addition to the evacuations, other residents were advised to shelter in place until police could check the area.

A police spokesperson said Tuesday morning that the threat referred to a possible explosive device.

The OPP Explosives Disposal Unit was brought in to assist, but no devices were located.

Police uncovered no evidence to substantiate the presence of a real threat, the spokesperson said.
