AbitibiBowater announces shutdown at Fort Frances mill

Workers at the AbitibiBowater mill in Fort Frances are facing more time off the job. The company announced its halting production at the pulp and paper mill for two weeks, beginning March 28. Poor market conditions have been blamed for the shutdown.

beginning March 28.  Poor market conditions have been blamed for the shutdown. 

More than 500 employees will be affected. 

The news comes while about 230 employees are in the middle of a
shutdown of the mill's paper machines. That shutdown is scheduled to end Monday, March 7.
