THUNDER BAY - A 19-year-old man accused of killing a 29-year-old B.C. man alongside with two other individuals will remain in custody following a brief court appearance on Wednesday.
Seandi Clarke-Noel, 19, of Whitby appeared by video in a Thunder Bay courtroom and was remanded in custody with a future court date of June 24.
His counsel, George Joseph told the court he is currently working on a bail plan for the accused, according to duty counsel Patrick Birchard who spoke as agent for Joseph on Wednesday, June 17.
Clarke-Noel was the third person arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection to an incident that left Paul Vivier dead on May 30.
A court-ordered publication ban is in place which prevents the publication of evidence discussed at the accused’s court appearance.
Denis Terry Bernard, 36, also faces a second-degree murder charge for his alleged role in Vivier’s death.
Police also arrested a Toronto teen with second-degree murder in connection to the case.
Police were originally dispatched to the Midtown Inn on May 30 after receiving reports of a person in medical distress.
Despite first aid attempts, the victim later died in the hospital.
