Active case count falls to lowest level since November

The Thunder Bay District has 41 active COVID-19 cases as two new cases are reported on Friday and six more having resolved.

THUNDER BAY - The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay District continues to fall and is now at the lowest it has been since last November.

On Friday, the Thunder Bay District reported two new COVID-19 cases. Both cases are from the Thunder Bay and surrounding area and the result of close contact.

With six previous cases now considered resolved, the active case count has fallen to 41, the lowest it's been since Nov. 16 when it was also 41.

No additional cases have screened positive for a variant of concern and there are two fewer people in hospital, which brings the total number of district hospitalizations to three, with one in the intensive care unit.

Since the start of the pandemic, the Thunder Bay District has reported a total of 3,131 positive COVID-19 cases.
