THUNDER BAY - After a steady decline for several days, the active COVID-19 case count in the Thunder Bay District has once again increased.
On Thursday, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is reporting seven new COVID-19 cases.
With no previous cases considered resolved, the active case count has increased from 24 to 31.
Of the new cases reported on Thursday, three are from Thunder Bay and surrounding areas, three from district communities, and one from a First Nation community.
Six of the cases are the result of close contact while the remaining case has no known exposure.
No additional cases have screened positive for a variant of concern, though two more people have been admitted to hospital.
To date, there have been 3,175 COVID-19 cases in the district.
