THUNDER BAY – An age-friendly seniors’ summit will take centre stage on June 1.

THUNDER BAY – An age-friendly seniors’ summit will take centre stage on June 1.

The one-day event, put on by Age Friendly Thunder Bay, is the latest step in developing a community-wide action plan to address the growing needs and interests of people older than 60. The idea behind the summit is to engage with the community seeking out ideas, opinions and experiences, together with any changes the city’s seniors might like to see enacted.

Guest speaker Sarah Webster will discuss trends and innovative solutions in a wide-variety of age-friendly areas, including housing, communication, recreation and healthcare.

The event will take place at the Oliver Road Community Centre from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
