Aggravated assault sends one man to hospital

City police have arrested two men in connection with an early morning aggravated assault that sent one man to hospital.

THUNDER BAY – One man was taken to hospital early Tuesday morning following an aggravated assault.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a 911 call at Simpson Street and Pacific Avenue just after 12 a.m. regarding an injured male.

Police say the 30-year-old victim had allegedly been assaulted while walking the area. The victim was able to flee and received assistance from a passing motorist in calling 911.

The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Police were able to locate and arrest two men in connection with the assault.

Harley Austin Loon, 19, and Travis Jacob Loon, 26 have been charged with aggravated assault.

The two accused have been remanded into custody and will appear in court Wednesday.
