Aggressive bear in Westfort sedated by MNR for relocation

Thunder Bay police and wildlife officials were called about a reportedly aggressive bear, which was sedated, in the city on Aug. 29, 2025.

THUNDER BAY –  A bear in a south-side neighbourhood was sedated by Ministry of Natural Resources officers on Friday afternoon. 

Thunder Bay police responded to a call related to an aggressive bear in the Heather Crescent area and said the MNR had been contacted to sedate and relocate the animal. 

Officers were able to sedate the bear.
