A new strategic plan for AIDS Thunder Bay will reflect their change in focus to HIV and Hepatitis C.

Officials with AIDS Thunder Bay say the new strategy is part of a three-year plan to strengthen current programs and create new ones. The group will also be changing its name. Executive Director Lawrence Korhonen said that process could take up to a year.

“We’re about to embark on that process, we’re going to be engaging our organization, clients volunteers, our board and staff and will be working with the consultants to do that work for a process that will probably take a year,” Korhonen said during an interview with CKPR Radio.

As for what the name change will be, Korhonen said he believes people will just have to wait and see.

This is the first formal strategic plan that AIDS Thunder Bay has introduced in its 27 year history.
