Alberta man killed in area highway crash

Dryden OPP released the identity of the person killed in a crash that shut down the TransCanada highway for several hours Tuesday. The crash between a tractor-trailer and a pick-up truck took place on Highway 17 in Revell Township, just after 8 a.m.

The drivers of both vehicles suffered non life-threatening injuries, but the passenger of the pick-up died as a result of the crash.

The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Matthew Love of Banff, Alta. The crash closed down the highway for four hours. Police reopened it to one lane at around 1 p.m.

Police continue to investigate.
