FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATIONS, Ont. -- New details are emerging about a weekend collision involving a teenage pedestrian.

The 16-year-old girl remains in critical condition following the Saturday incident between herself and a pickup truck on Squaw Bay Road.

The crash was reported at about 8 p.m., near the gravel pit on Squaw Bay Road.  The Anishinabek Police Service and the local OPP were called to the collision scene.

Investigator Derek Johnson says the victim was found seriously hurt, lying in a ditch.

The driver of the vehicle is a 23-year-old man, and Johnson says they have ruled out alcohol being a factor in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing, and Johnson says they have not yet determined whether any charges will be laid.
