(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Sunday, September 20, 2105 at approximately 9:40 pm officers from the Thunder Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an impaired driver on Mount McKay on Fort William First Nation.
Officers attended and located the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected an odour of alcohol emitting from the drivers breath and the driver exhibited obvious signs of impairment.
Anthony DESMOULIN, 24 years of age, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor vehicle and Fail to Provide a Breath Sample contrary to the Criminal Code.
He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 27, 2015 to answer to the charges.
On Monday, September 21, officers were on patrol when they observed an erratic driver on Highway 11/17 in the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge.
Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected an odour of alcohol emitting from the drivers breath and the driver exhibited obvious signs of impairment. Subsequently, the driver was found to be over the legal limit.
Emmett PITAWANAKWAT, 48 years of age, from Birch Island, Ont was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor vehicle and and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code.
He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on October 30, 2015 to answer to the charges.
