Anonymous threat closes Hammarskjold High School

Hammarskjold High School students sent home for the second time in one week because of an anonymous threat.

THUNDER BAY – Hammarskjold High School is closed for the second time this week because of an anonymous threat.

According to Lakehead Public School officials, Hammarskjold High School will be closed on Friday after the threat was received by Thunder Bay Police.

All efforts will be made to reopen on Monday.

Students picked up by bus will be returned home, but those without home keys will be dropped off at Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute. 

This is the fifth time in recent weeks the Clarkson Street School has been closed by an anonymous threat. 

Hold and secure protocols were in place at Ecole Gron Morgan, Algonquin Avenue Public School and C.D. Howe Public School but has since been lifted.

St. Pius X, Gateway, Bishop E.Q. Jennings, Corpus Christi, and St. Bernard are on hold and secure until further notice.
