OPP News release:
The Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the theft of another Automated Teller Machine (ATM) which occurred during the afternoon of July 11.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., a suspect entered Fresh Market Foods on Queen Street and removed the ATM on a dolly cart. The store was open when the theft occurred.
This is the second theft of an ATM from Sioux Lookout. The last one stolen was on July 1. It was later located destroyed off a bush road south of Sioux Lookout.
The Sioux Lookout OPP would like to remind all businesses in the northwest region that have ATMs to ensure they are secured to the floor or wall in some manner and that their video surveillance equipment is operational and focused on an area where the ATM is.
