Another candidate has stepped forward to contest the NDP nomination in the Kenora riding.

Another candidate has stepped forward to contest the NDP nomination in the Kenora riding.

Peter Edwards, an employee of the Kenora Association of Community Living, has announced he's hoping to be the party's candidate in the October federal election.

While Edwards has never held political office, he currently serves as vice-president of Kenora's NDP riding association.

He'll be running for the party nod against former provincial NDP leader Howard Hampton.

The eventual winner will face Conservative cabinet minister Greg Rickford and former Liberal cabinet minister Bob Nault in the general election.
