Another threat closes Hammarskjold High School

An anonymous threat has closed Hammarksjold High School.

THUNDER BAY – Hammarskjold High School is closed for the ninth time this school year because of an anonymous threat.

According to Lakehead Public School officials, Hammarskjold High School will be closed on Monday.

All efforts will be made to reopen the school on Tuesday.

Students picked up by bus will be returned home, but those without home keys will be dropped off at Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute. 

As a precaution Algonquin Avenue Public School, CD Howe Public School, Gron Morgan Public School, St. Pius X School, Gateway, Bishop E.Q. Jennings Senior Elementary School, Corpus Christi Elementary School and St. Bernard Elementary School have been placed on hold and secure.

The hold and secure has been lifted at nearby elementary schools.
