THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District has recorded another death connected to COVID-19.
The district health unit on Wednesday reported the death of the 83rd victim of the virus since the onset of the pandemic.
TBDHU updated COVID-19 dashboard also shows a slight increase in the positivity test rate.
During the week of Mar. 20 to 26, 13.3 per cent of tests returned a positive result, compared with 12.5 per cent the previous week.
Since Monday, 62 new cases have been confirmed, bringing the district's active case count to 118.
This is one fewer than on Monday.
TBDHU said 24 people are currently hospitalized with the virus, also a drop of one from Monday.
However the number of patients in intensive care rose from six to eight.
