THUNDER BAY — COVID-19 has played a role in the death of another resident of the Thunder Bay district.
The district health unit on Monday announced the passing of the 84th person in the district who contracted the virus.
This is the cumulative total of all people whose death is linked to COVID-19 as either the underlying cause or a contributing factor.
TBDHU also reported 72 new positive test results and a current active case count of 108, which is five fewer than on Friday.
The health unit said 25 people are in hospital with the virus, including nine in intensive care.
On Friday there were 25 in hospital including eight in intensive care.
