Area inflation rate 0.6 per cent in May: StatsCan

The inflation rate for this area was down significantly for May, Statistics Canada reports. Recently released data shows that the rate of inflation for the Thunder Bay area in May was at 0.6 per cent. That’s down sharply from the 1.

Recently released data shows that the rate of inflation for the Thunder Bay area in May was at 0.6 per cent. That’s down sharply from the 1.5 per cent recorded in April.

This area’s rate is now the third lowest among major Canadian urban areas, with only Calgary and Edmonton having recorded lower inflation rates in May.

The region’s inflation rate is also well below the provincial and national averages of 1.2 per cent.
