Area MP heads to China

MP Bruce Hyer (NDP, Thunder Bay – Superior North) is off to China. The federal NDP’s small business and tourism critic leaves Saturday on a joint federal and provincial trade mission to help promote Canada as a tourist destination.

MP Bruce Hyer (NDP, Thunder Bay – Superior North) is off to China.

The federal NDP’s small business and tourism critic leaves Saturday on a joint federal and provincial trade mission to help promote Canada as a tourist destination.

Hyer said that with Canada making the list of approved countries that Chinese people can visit, the number of potential visitors is enormous.

Last year, Chinese tourists injected an estimated $260-million into Canada’s economy.
