The city and provincial police forces are extending a heartfelt thank you following an overwhelming response to a weekend charitable drive.
The Thunder Bay detachment of the OPP, along with the Thunder Bay Police Service, the Anishinabek and NAN Police Services and the RCMP, teamed up to stage a stuff a cruiser event.
They were set up this past Saturday at several grocery outlets across the city, and area residents came through in a big way.
The final tally show 4,227-kilograms -- or 9,300 pounds -- of food was donated. Additionally, $2,700 was donated.
All proceeds were handed over to the Regional Food Distribution Association.
