THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police have made an arrest in a recent hit-and-run that left a 60-year-old male motorcyclist in hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police took a 57-year-old woman, who they did not name, into custody and charged her with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, as well as a stop-sign violation.

Police initially said they were looking for a woman with blonde hair driving a dark-coloured SUV that would likely have damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

After the Aug. 21 collision, the woman exited her vehicle to check on the condition of the motorcyclist, only to return to it and flee the scene.

Police, in a release issued on Monday, say they received a number of tips from the public, whom they thanked for their assistance.
