Association offers drug prevention funds

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police is accepting applications for their drug prevention program.

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police is accepting applications for their drug prevention program.

The Substance Abuse Grants Program is for community groups requiring funds to create support programs that deal with drug prevention and/or informing youth.

Applicants could receive anywhere from $500 to $2,000.

The applications will be evaluated by the OACP Substance Abuse Committee and requires an endorsement letter from the applicants local police service.

The letter must be signed by a department commander, unit commander or an officer with a rank of inspector or greater.

Applications must be in by April 16.
