Atikokan man charged with violating COVID-19 stay-at-home order

The 60-year-old had previously received a warning.

ATIKOKAN, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have charged a resident of Atikokan after an anti-lockdown demonstration in the community.

OPP say the event was held outside the Atikokan arena on Sunday, May 2.

Officers observed a man who had been warned previously about disobeying the provincial stay-at-home order.

Under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, the 60-year-old man will receive an $880 fine if he's convicted.
