The Thunder Bay Community Auditorium is getting a boost to honour donors and volunteers.
The Thunder Bay Community Auditorium Foundation announced a legacy gift from the estate of the late Dusty Miller in the amount of $25,000 to honour the original members of the Auditorium Guild.
Miller served as the first female mayor of Thunder Bay from 1978-1980, and also served a total of four terms on city council. She passed away in 2012 at the age of 82.
During her political career Miller was instrumental to the city’s arts scene, and played a significant role in the creation of the Auditorium. She was involved with the coordination of drama and performing arts programs at both Lakehead University and Confederation College.
A reception will be hosted at the Auditorium on Monday evening at approximately 10:15 p.m. following the Tenors’ Christmas Show.
The Auditorium Foundation will also be presenting a cheque of $35,000 towards the installation of an electronic donor board.
