Automatic alarm makes for abrupt morning wakeup call at local hotel

THUNDER BAY – There were some anxious moments Thursday morning for people staying at the Victoria Inn. The guests had to be evacuated from their rooms at about 4 a.m. after an automatic alarm was triggered.

The guests had to be evacuated from their rooms at about 4 a.m. after an automatic alarm was triggered. The alarm prompted a response by Thunder Bay firefighters.  

After a thorough investigation, it appears that it may have been an equipment malfunction, although the details haven't been determined.
