THUNDER BAY -- A labour stoppage appears to have been averted at Avenue II Community Services in Thunder Bay.
A strike or lockout could have begun at midnight Friday, but a tentative deal has been reached between the union and the non-profit agency.
OPSEU Local 7-38 represents around 100 employees at Avenue II, who work with people with developmental challenges.
The workers have been staging rallies, and narrowly rejected the first tentative deal reached last week.
This latest deal which was reached Thursday night.
The OPSEU bargaining team won't comment on it, until after the ratification vote on Saturday.
If it's accepted, the vote results and contract details should be released soon after that.
