Bail hearing adjourned for man arrested in $39,000 drug bust

THUNDER BAY - A  man charged in connection to a 2018 drug bust where police officers seized more than $39,000 in suspected heroin and crack cocaine will wait longer in custody for a bail hearing.

Warran Mills, 31, of Brampton, was charged in August 2018 after police executed a search warrant and arrested four individuals at a Fulton Boulevard apartment.

Mills appeared by audio in Thunder bay bail court last week, however, his matter was remanded to April 14 to set a new date for a bail hearing.

The accused faces one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, trafficking in a substance and failing to comply with a recognizance.

Along with the suspected drugs, police also seized approximately $15,000 and a taser, police previously said through a media release.

Three others, Jeffery McNickle, Quwayne Miller and Iman Elsaway were also arrested alongside Mills.

The accused will appear back in court on Tuesday, April 14, by video to reschedule a new date for a hearing.
