The man accused of heading a criminal organization has to wait another month to learn whether he’ll be granted bail.

John Tsekouras, 38, was arrested in April and charged with being the director of a criminal organization, and trafficking cocaine and marijuana.

A bail review hearing continued Thursday from Aug. 23 for Tsekouras at the Superior Court of Justice and after hearing arguments from both the Crown attorney and the accused man’s lawyers, Justice Bruce Fitzpatrick said he would give his decision on Oct. 2.

Tsekouras was one of six people arrested in April through a police investigation titled Project Dolphin, which also saw seven other people arrested in June 2011.

More than $2.1 million in illicit drugs and about $500,000 in cash and property were seized through the investigation.

Tsekouras is being represented by Toronto lawyer Edward Greenspan, who represented media baron Conrad Black. Thunder Bay lawyer Neil McCartney is also representing the accused.

None of the charges against the accused have been proven in court.
